Sunnyside, WALocal News

A head-on collision near Sunnyside, Washington, claimed the lives of two young children, aged 6 and 8, when their vehicle was struck by a wrong-way driver on I-82. The Washington State Patrol confirmed that the crash occurred around 7:30 p. m. on Tuesday, with 20-year-old Keith Goings driving west in the eastbound lanes before crashing into the Grandview man’s car. The two children were pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured driver and a third child were transported to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities suspect that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash, leading to pending charges against Goings, who was also injured and taken to a Seattle hospital. GoFundMe campaigns have been launched to support the families affected by this tragedy, including one for the children's family and another for the driver’s medical bills. The accident raises serious concerns about impaired driving and its devastating consequences on families and communities.
