New upgrades at Yakima State Fair Park aim to boost Yakima Valley economy

Yakima State Fair Park announced a series of infrastructure upgrades designed to enhance economic activity in the Yakima Valley. The Central Washington Fair Association completed a $2. 7 million renovation of its RV park, which now accommodates 167 spaces for overnight rentals. Plans include a $2 million grant to expand the RV park by 101 spaces following the 2025 Central Washington State Fair, with an estimated $2. 5 million in annual economic impact by 2027 from large-scale events.

Additionally, a $400,000 grant will fund repairs to livestock barn roofs used for agricultural education and youth programming. CEO Kathy Kramer highlighted the significance of these projects for community revenue and entertainment. Local officials and community leaders participated in the announcement, emphasizing the importance of expanding the site’s infrastructure. These initiatives have been in development for over two years and aim to attract more visitors and events to the region. Enhancing the Fair Park's facilities aligns with the community's broader economic goals and supports local businesses.
