The Sun Country Mustang Club in Yakima is gearing up for a celebratory event on April 19, coinciding with National Mustang Day, which marks the 61st anniversary of the Ford Mustang's launch in 1964. The club, led by President Brian Teegarden, gathers annually to showcase the Mustang's pivotal role in American automotive and pop culture. Teegarden expressed that the event not only celebrates Mustangs but also honors the Shelby Mustang and the Shelby GT 350, highlighting the rich heritage of these vehicles. The celebration will feature a diverse array of Mustangs, along with opportunities for enthusiasts to sell their cars, ensuring a lively atmosphere. Attendees can look forward to activities such as door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and birthday cake, creating a festive environment for car lovers.

Teegarden emphasized the importance of community, stating that his favorite part of the event is the camaraderie among car enthusiasts. The event will take place at Reno’s on the Runway by the airport, starting at 10:30 a. m. The club encourages everyone to come out and appreciate these iconic cars together.
