A tragic accident on I-82 near Sunnyside, Washington, resulted in the deaths of two young children, aged 6 and 8, when a wrong-way driver collided head-on with their vehicle. The Washington State Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 7:30 PM, involving 20-year-old Keith Goings, who was driving west in the eastbound lanes. The children, passengers in a car driven by a man from Grandview, were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and another child were taken to a hospital for injuries. Investigators believe drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the crash, and charges against Goings are currently pending. He was also injured and received treatment at a hospital in Seattle.

Community support has poured in, with GoFundMe campaigns established to help cover funeral costs for the children and medical expenses for the injured driver. This tragic event highlights the dangers of impaired driving and its devastating consequences on families and communities.
