Triumph Treatment Center hosts Opioid Awareness event

Triumph Treatment Center hosted a major event at Sarg Hubbard Park for Yakima's Opioid Awareness Day, bringing together various local service and recovery organizations. Counselor Shawna Estep discussed the collaborative effort to address opioid abuse, asserting that the Yakima Valley offers numerous resources for those in need. "I know folks sometimes can feel like they get shuffled around and resources are hard to find," she remarked, emphasizing the significance of consolidating resources at a single event. Ryan Sprauer from Yakima Valley Recovery described the opioid crisis as a pervasive issue across America, highlighting its serious implications. "This is not just an issue of someone going to jail if they get caught, this is life or death," Sprauer warned.

Albert Bass from Yakima Health and Counseling stressed the need for individuals struggling with addiction to reconnect with their identities.
