Wareham police responded to a 911 call shortly before 9:30 p. m. and discovered Spagnuolo suffering from a significant facial injury. The Massachusetts State Police, along with the Bomb Squad, were called to the scene to ensure there were no additional explosive hazards. The investigation into Spagnuolo's death is ongoing, with the medical examiner tasked with determining the cause and manner of death.
