Zillah incident leaves one person dead

Police in Zillah, Washington, responded to a report about a man in a neighbor's house early Tuesday morning. Officers attempted to negotiate with the man for over an hour before forcing entry into the residence around 12:10 a. m. A confrontation ensued, resulting in the man's detention. After receiving medical aid, he was transported to a local hospital and subsequently to a trauma facility, where he died.

The Yakima Valley Special Investigation Unit is currently investigating the incident, and an autopsy is pending.
