Spokane City Council approved resolution 2025-0044, designating June 22, 2025, as Kids’ Day to recognize children's roles in families and communities. Riverfront Park will offer free admission to attractions like The Skyride and Looff Carrousel for children aged 12 and under. Council Member Lili Navarrete stated the event serves as a perfect opportunity for families, especially those who may struggle financially. Local sponsors, including Dasani Water, SDS Realty, and Avista Foundation, helped fund the festivities. The annual celebration aims to honor the hard work of educators, childcare workers, and advocates for children.

The event will also promote community engagement and appreciation for those involved in child development. This initiative underscores the importance of children's contributions while providing a fun environment for families. Riverfront Park and the City’s Parks and Recreation Department will coordinate the event, ensuring it becomes a beloved tradition.
