Firework Thrown From a Vehicle Causes Severe Injuries to Another

Spokane Police are investigating a serious incident involving a firework thrown from a vehicle that injured a man on November 8, 2025. Shortly after midnight, officers responded to reports of a loud bang near 2nd and Wall. Witnesses described seeing a vehicle pull up and throw a lit firework into a crowd before fleeing the scene. The explosion inflicted severe injuries on a male victim, who was subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Although initial reports suggested a gunshot, police clarified the source of the noise was the firework.

Investigators from the SPD Major Crimes Unit have released security images of the suspect vehicle and are asking for public help in identifying it. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding public safety and the reckless use of fireworks in urban areas.
