On November 8, 2025, Spokane Police responded to a report of a firework incident that resulted in severe injuries to a man. The incident occurred shortly after midnight near 2nd and Wall, where witnesses reported a loud explosion. A vehicle approached a group of people, and a lit firework was thrown from it, causing injuries to a male victim who was later transported to Harborview Medical Center. Officers learned that the victim had already been taken to a hospital by the time they arrived. Investigators from the SPD Major Crimes Unit are seeking assistance from the community to identify the suspect vehicle, which was captured in security photos.
