Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies
Spokane Police arrested 45-year-old Justin McDowell for two armed robberies that took place in November 2025, with the first occurring at a marijuana retail store on South Lewis Street. An employee reported that a man wearing a Halloween mask and armed with a shotgun stole cash from the register. Investigators obtained video evidence, which helped identify McDowell as a suspect after further interviews and collaboration with Spokane and Kalispel Tribes law enforcement. Just days later, another robbery took place at a gaming store, where the same Halloween mask and shotgun were used. Police located McDowell on November 7th, seizing evidence linked to both crimes during his arrest.
He was booked into Spokane County Jail and faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery. McDowell's actions raised concerns about public safety in Spokane, prompting a response from law enforcement to increase vigilance in the area. He remains in custody with a bond set at $50,000.
