Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police arrested Justin McDowell, 45, on November 7, 2025, for two armed robberies committed within a week. The first incident took place on November 2 at a marijuana retail store on South Lewis Street, where witnesses described the suspect wearing a Halloween mask and wielding a shotgun. Following this robbery, police obtained video evidence and identified a suspect vehicle, leading to McDowell's identification. On November 7, another robbery occurred at a gaming store on East Holland Avenue, featuring similar characteristics. Officers located McDowell later that day in the 2900 block of East Broad, where they seized evidence linked to the crimes.

He was booked into the Spokane County Jail on two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond. The Spokane Police have collaborated with law enforcement partners from the Spokane and Kalispel Tribes during the investigation. These robberies highlight ongoing concerns about crime in the area, prompting local officials to address public safety measures.
