Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police arrested 45-year-old Justin McDowell for two armed robberies, the first occurring on November 2nd at a marijuana retail store on South Lewis Street. An employee reported that a man in a Halloween mask entered the store with a shotgun and stole cash from the register. Investigators gathered video evidence and conducted witness interviews, which led to identifying McDowell as a suspect. On November 7th, another armed robbery occurred at a gaming store, where similar attire and a weapon were used. Police located McDowell later that day in the 2900 block of East Broad, where they seized evidence related to the crimes.

McDowell now faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond. The Spokane Police Department continues to work with law enforcement partners to investigate these incidents. These events highlight ongoing concerns regarding safety in local retail environments.
