Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police arrested 45-year-old Justin McDowell on November 7, 2025, for committing two armed robberies in the city. The initial robbery occurred on November 2 at a marijuana retail store, where an assailant wearing a Halloween mask and armed with a shotgun stole cash from the register. Investigators utilized video evidence and witness interviews to identify McDowell as a suspect. Just days later, another robbery occurred at a gaming store, showcasing similar tactics and attire. Law enforcement partners from the Spokane and Kalispel Tribes assisted in the investigation, leading to McDowell's apprehension.

Officers found evidence related to the crimes during his arrest in the 2900 block of East Broad. McDowell faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond. The swift police response underscores the department's commitment to addressing violent crime in the community.
