Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police apprehended Justin McDowell, 45, on November 7th for two armed robberies in Spokane, marking a significant escalation in local crime. The first robbery occurred on November 2nd at a marijuana retail store on South Lewis Street, where a masked man with a shotgun stole cash. Investigators utilized video evidence to identify McDowell, linking him to a second robbery at a gaming store on East Holland Avenue. During this second incident, he again wore a similar Halloween mask and used a shotgun. Officers arrested McDowell in the 2900 block of East Broad, where they seized evidence connected to the crimes.

He faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond. The series of robberies has prompted increased police attention in the area, raising concerns for local business safety. Law enforcement continues to collaborate with community partners to address these issues.
