Spokane, WALocal News

Tyrone L. Cliff, a 38-year-old former middle school teacher from Spokane, was arrested in Florida on felony charges of possessing child sexual abuse material. The investigation commenced in August when the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit received a CyberTip about Cliff's activities. Detectives identified him and began to prepare search warrants but learned he had moved to Florida before they could act. The Spokane Police Department worked with the Tampa Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to facilitate his arrest.

Cliff is currently held in the Hillsborough County Jail, pending extradition to Washington State for prosecution. This incident underscores the collaboration between law enforcement agencies across state lines to combat child exploitation. As the investigation continues, authorities are emphasizing the importance of public vigilance in reporting suspected abuse. Cliff’s previous role as a teacher raises serious concerns about the safety of children in educational environments.
