Spokane, WALocal News

On October 28, 2025, law enforcement officials apprehended Tyrone L. Cliff, a 38-year-old former teacher, in Florida for felony charges involving child sexual abuse material. The investigation began in August when the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit received a CyberTip regarding Cliff's online activities. Detectives identified Cliff as the suspect and prepared to serve search warrants at his Spokane residence but learned he had moved to Florida. Collaborative efforts between the Spokane Police Department, Tampa Police Department, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement led to his swift arrest.

At the time of his capture, Cliff was employed as a middle school teacher in Hillsborough County. He is now booked into the Hillsborough County Jail and awaiting extradition to Washington State. The case underscores the ongoing challenges of addressing child exploitation online. Law enforcement remains vigilant in pursuing individuals involved in such crimes to ensure community safety.
