Spokane, WALocal News

On October 28, 2025, Florida law enforcement arrested Tyrone L. Cliff, 38, on multiple felony charges for possessing child sexual abuse material. The investigation began in August when the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit received a CyberTip regarding Cliff's online activities. Detectives identified him as a former Spokane resident and teacher at a religious school. As they prepared to serve search warrants in Spokane, they discovered he had moved to Florida, prompting the issuance of felony warrants.

Cliff was apprehended while working as a middle school teacher in Hillsborough County, highlighting the importance of cross-state collaboration among police departments. The Spokane Police Department, Tampa Police Department, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement worked together to ensure his swift capture. Cliff's extradition to Washington State is pending, where he will face serious allegations. This case underscores the ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation and enforce strict penalties for offenders.
