Female in Custody After an Auto Dealership Has 16 Vehicles Vandalized

Spokane, WALocal News

Katie L. Sims, 34, was arrested for vandalizing 16 vehicles at an auto dealership in Spokane on September 19, leading to an estimated $100,000 in damages. Spokane Police Department (SPD) officers responded shortly before midnight to a report of an argument, where they found that one individual threw rocks at cars in the lot. Surveillance footage from the dealership allowed officers to identify Sims as the suspect. The following day, police located Sims in downtown Spokane, still dressed in the same clothing as seen in the video.

The dealership's security team played a crucial role in providing evidence that led to her arrest. The damage estimate may rise beyond $100,000 as assessments continue. Sims is now in custody at the Spokane County Jail, facing charges of 1st Degree Malicious Mischief. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about property crime in the area.
