Construction Project Changes

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's construction projects will significantly impact traffic on North Ash Street and Rockwood Boulevard in mid-September. Southbound lanes on Ash Street will merge from three lanes to one lane from September 22-24, increasing congestion on Northwest Boulevard and Ash Street. Rockwood Boulevard will close entirely to all traffic between Grand Boulevard and Cowley Street from September 15-17 for critical water, sewer, and stormwater system work. This project includes pavement rehabilitation and a redesign of the intersection, with completion expected by mid-October. Local access will be maintained, and pedestrians may experience sidewalk detours during the construction period.

Drivers are advised to utilize alternative routes and adjust their travel times to avoid peak traffic hours between 7 a. m. and 7 p. m. Current obstruction information is available on the city's construction webpage.

The city emphasizes the importance of safety and supporting local businesses affected by the necessary work.
