Age of Elegance Reimagined Showcases Local Furnishers to Raise Funds for Historic Preservation of D.C. Corbin Mansion, September 6-20
Spokane's upcoming Parks & Recreation levy could provide essential funds for the D. C. Corbin House's preservation if approved by voters in November. The "Age of Elegance Reimagined" event, scheduled from September 6 to 20, showcases local furnishings and features guided tours by historian Cindy Blue-Blanton. Admission is set at $10, with all proceeds directed toward the restoration of the mansion's front veranda.
Private group tours are discounted to $8 per person for groups of six or more. The Corbin House, designed by notable architect Kirtland K. Cutter, has functioned as the Corbin Art Center for over 50 years, offering fine arts programs for the community. D. C.
Corbin, a key figure in Spokane's history, donated the land for Corbin Park to the city. The center aims to foster personal and creative growth through art education. Interested donors can contribute via the Spokane Parks Foundation's website.
