Age of Elegance Reimagined Showcases Local Furnishers to Raise Funds for Historic Preservation of D.C. Corbin Mansion, September 6-20

Spokane, WALocal News

The "Age of Elegance Reimagined" exhibition at the Corbin Art Center, running from September 6-20, features guided tours and local furnishings for sale to support the preservation of the D. C. Corbin House. Admission is set at $10, with proceeds aimed at restoring the mansion's front veranda. Historian Cindy Blue-Blanton will lead tours on multiple dates, providing insights into the home's rich history.

Voters are set to decide on a Parks & Recreation levy in November that could allocate funds for the mansion's ongoing maintenance. The Corbin Art Center has served the Spokane community for over 50 years, offering affordable fine arts and crafts programs that promote personal growth. D. C. Corbin, an influential figure in the railroad and mining industries, originally gifted land for what is now Corbin Park.

Donations to aid preservation efforts can be made through the Spokane Parks Foundation. This initiative highlights the community's commitment to maintaining its historical landmarks.
