Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Spokane, WALocal News

Starting Sept. 2, construction on Rockwood Boulevard will lead to significant street closures and reduced parking near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project involves rehabilitating the pavement, redesigning the intersection of Rockwood Boulevard and Cowley Street, and replacing outdated water main pipes. Traffic will condense, with 9th Avenue restricted to one lane in each direction for access to healthcare employee parking. There will be no on-street metered parking on both Rockwood Boulevard and 9th Avenue between Grand Boulevard and Cowley Street.

Pedestrians may experience detours, but local access will remain open during construction. The project is set to be completed by mid-October, emphasizing the city's commitment to improving infrastructure. Residents are encouraged to exercise caution and support local businesses impacted by the construction. Current obstruction information is available on the city's construction webpage.
