Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital
Construction on Rockwood Boulevard begins Tuesday, Sept. 2, requiring significant street closures and reduced on-street parking in the area. The project includes pavement rehabilitation and redesigning the intersection at Rockwood Blvd. and Cowley St. and 10th Ave.
, along with utility upgrades involving outdated water main pipe replacements and sewer repairs. Traffic will be condensed, allowing north/south access at the Sumner Ave. /10th Ave. intersection, while Sumner Ave. /10th Ave.
will close for east/west traffic. Metered parking will become unavailable on both 9th Ave. and Rockwood Blvd. Pedestrian detours may occur, but local access will remain open. This infrastructure upgrade near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center aims to enhance public safety and service delivery.
The project is slated for completion by mid-October, with residents encouraged to support nearby businesses during the construction. Current obstruction information can be found on the city's construction webpage.
