Firefighters responded to a house fire at 804 South Sherman Street at 10:39 a. m. on August 25, 2025, where flames were visible from the first floor. Dispatch informed crews of a high likelihood that an adult male resident was trapped inside the two-story duplex. Upon arrival, Engine 1 confirmed the fire's extension to the second story and attic.

Firefighters located the unconscious resident and extricated him through a window, upgrading the call to a second alarm for additional resources.
