Man Rescued in House Fire, Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition

Firefighters quickly responded to a house fire at 804 South Sherman Street, where flames were visible from the front of a two-story duplex. Dispatchers informed crews that there was a high likelihood of an adult male resident being trapped inside. Upon arrival, Engine 1 confirmed fire extending from the first floor into the attic and initiated a rescue operation. Firefighters located an unconscious adult male and removed him from the home in under four minutes. He was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, but the property suffered extensive damage, making it uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and firefighters will monitor the scene for potential hotspots. No additional injuries were reported during the incident.
