Man Rescued in House Fire, Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition

Spokane firefighters were dispatched at 10:39 a. m. to a house fire at 804 South Sherman Street, where flames were reported and a resident potentially trapped inside. Engine 1 arrived four minutes later and confirmed that the fire had spread from the first floor to the upper levels of the duplex. Firefighters initiated a search and found an unconscious adult male, whom they removed within four minutes.

The victim was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he is in critical condition. The firefighting team brought the blaze under control in just 20 minutes, but the damage left the structure uninhabitable. Firefighters remained on the scene to extinguish any remaining hotspots. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and no additional injuries were reported. This incident highlights the dangers of residential fires and the critical role of first responders in emergency situations.
