Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at all City facilities in Spokane to be lowered to half-staff in memory of Sergeant Ken Salas, who died while helping with a traffic hazard on Interstate 90. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sergeant Salas, who was killed while serving our community,” Brown expressed. The loss of Salas highlights the dangers faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty.
