City Seeks Feedback For Climate Planning
The City of Spokane commenced a community climate policy survey to shape its climate action strategies. Open until August 31, 2025, the survey allows residents to express their preferences for future climate policies. Mayor Lisa Brown emphasized that community feedback is essential to address climate change impacts in Spokane's 29 neighborhoods. Earlier this year, more than 1,500 community members shared their experiences with climate challenges, informing the Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment. The survey results will guide the PlanSpokane 2046 update, influencing future city decisions and actions.
This effort is supported by a state grant from Washington's Climate Commitment Act, which aims to reduce climate pollution while creating jobs and improving public health. The survey is available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and Arabic, to ensure broad participation. Engaging diverse voices will help build a more resilient Spokane.
