The scene required a significant police response, including SWAT and the Hostage Negotiation Team, and the Major Crimes Unit is now investigating. The surviving victim, who was in a dating relationship with Pedro, sustained substantial injuries but is expected to recover after treatment at a local hospital.

The relationship between Pedro and the deceased victim remains unclear. Authorities reassured the public that there is no ongoing danger to the community.
