Sex Trafficking Suspect in Custody

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane police arrested Taurean D. Jones, 38, on July 30, 2025, following a detailed investigation into sex trafficking and sexual assault. The investigation commenced in January after police received a report from Idaho about a juvenile victim. Detectives discovered that Jones not only arranged to pay the victim for sex but also used drugs and alcohol to coerce her into compliance. The inquiry revealed alarming methods of coercion, including threats of physical violence and a firearm.

Authorities identified a second victim and executed search warrants on Jones' vehicle and an associated business, uncovering a loaded stolen firearm and cocaine. Jones faces serious charges, including Promoting Commercial Sexual Abuse of a Minor and multiple counts of rape. Counselors and advocacy groups are currently assisting the victims in this case. The collaboration of various agencies underscores the critical need for vigilance against trafficking and support for those affected.
