Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Construction projects commencing July 21 on South Freya St. and South Lincoln St. will significantly disrupt traffic in Spokane. The South Freya St. initiative includes replacing over 3,000 feet of water main and repairing street surfaces, resulting in a complete closure between 13th Ave.

and 21st Ave. Hartson Ave. , South Ray St. , and East 29th Ave. will function as detours, while local access will be preserved for residents.

Meanwhile, the South Lincoln St. project focuses on rehabilitating swale plantings, with crews removing and replacing existing plants throughout the summer. Intermittent work will occur on weekdays, with flaggers present to manage vehicle traffic when necessary. Delays are anticipated, particularly when flagging is required, and pedestrian detours will be established to ensure safety. Construction on South Freya St.

is expected to be completed by late October, contributing to improved infrastructure and utility coordination. These projects are essential for maintaining public services and supporting local businesses during the disruptions.
