Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will initiate construction projects affecting traffic on July 21, requiring motorists to plan for detours. South Freya Street will close between 13th and 21st Avenues for over 3,000 feet of water main replacement, along with street surface repairs and ADA-compliant curb ramps. Detours will direct motorists along Hartson Avenue, South Ray Street, and East 29th Avenue, while local access remains for residents. The project is projected to be completed by late October. Concurrently, South Lincoln Street will undergo intermittent work throughout the summer as crews replace swale plantings on both sides.

Flaggers will be present to manage traffic during necessary work, and pedestrian detours will be established when sidewalks are obstructed. These improvements aim to enhance infrastructure and community safety. City officials encourage drivers to slow down and support local businesses during construction.
