Spokane will see two construction projects begin on July 21 that will significantly impact traffic. The first project involves replacing over 3,000 feet of water main along South Freya St. between 13th Ave. and 21st Ave. , with street repairs and ADA-compliant curb ramps also included.

This portion of South Freya St. will be closed, and detour routes will utilize Hartson Ave. , South Ray St. , and East 29th Ave. Local access for residents will be maintained, and the project is expected to finish by late October.

Concurrently, South Lincoln St. will undergo swale planting rehabilitation between 19th Ave. and 29th Ave. during weekdays throughout the summer. Traffic delays are anticipated when flaggers direct vehicle traffic, with alternate routes suggested via High Drive and Bernard St.

Pedestrian detours will be established when sidewalks are obstructed, emphasizing safety during the construction period. The city encourages motorists to plan ahead and support local businesses affected by the work.
