Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's traffic will be disrupted by improvement projects starting on July 21, demanding careful planning from motorists. The South Freya Street initiative will replace over 3,000 feet of aging water main, accompanied by street surface repairs and the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps. This project will close South Freya Street between 13th Avenue and 21st Avenue, with detours set along Hartson Avenue, South Ray Street, and East 29th Avenue. Meanwhile, the South Lincoln Street project will focus on rehabilitating swale plantings, involving the removal and replacement of existing plants. Work on Lincoln Street will occur intermittently throughout the summer, with flaggers on site to manage traffic flow.

Pedestrians should anticipate detours when sidewalks are obstructed. Local access for residents will remain intact, minimizing disruptions. Completion of these projects is expected by late October.
