Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will begin two significant traffic-impacting improvement projects on July 21, affecting South Freya Street and South Lincoln Street. The South Freya Street project aims to replace over 3,000 feet of water main, including street surface repairs and ADA-compliant curb ramps, with work expected to be completed by late October. Motorists will encounter closures on South Freya Street, with Hartson Avenue, South Ray Street, and East 29th Avenue designated as detour routes. Local access will remain available for residents during construction. Concurrently, the South Lincoln Street project will focus on rehabilitating swale plantings, with work ongoing intermittently throughout the summer.

Traffic delays may occur when flaggers are present, and alternate routes include High Drive and Bernard Street. Additionally, pedestrian detours will be implemented when sidewalks are obstructed. City officials urge motorists to plan ahead and support local businesses during this necessary work.
