Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will see traffic disruptions starting July 21 due to construction projects on South Freya Street and South Lincoln Street. The South Freya project entails replacing over 3,000 feet of water main, as well as street surface repairs and the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps. This work will necessitate a full closure of the street, with detours directed via Hartson Avenue, South Ray Street, and East 29th Avenue, and is set to conclude in late October. Concurrently, the South Lincoln project involves the rehabilitation of swale plantings, with crews replacing existing plants throughout the summer. Traffic delays may occur when flaggers are present to manage vehicle movements.

Residents will retain local access, but pedestrian detours will be established as sidewalks are obstructed during the work. The city's construction webpage will provide updated obstruction information for drivers. These projects aim to enhance local infrastructure and support ADA compliance.
