SPD Investigates Several Intentionally Set Fires

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Police arrested Chad Horne, 37, for 2nd Degree Arson following a series of intentionally set fires on July 8, 2025. Horne had previously been sought as a person of interest in connection with the arson events and was last spotted near a Walmart in Spokane Valley. After changing his clothes, he was described as wearing dark shorts, a black tank top, and a white headband while carrying a large bag. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the four structures that were set ablaze, which raised concerns given the current hot and dry weather conditions in the area. The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incidents, examining evidence, and seeking additional surveillance footage to connect Horne to the fires.

The investigation follows an earlier warrant for Horne related to domestic violence, emphasizing the urgency of locating him. Authorities encourage anyone with information about Horne's whereabouts or relevant footage to call Crime Check. The community remains vigilant as police continue to assess the situation and prevent further incidents.
