SPD Investigates Several Intentionally Set Fires

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Police arrested Chad Horne on July 9, 2025, following a series of intentionally set fires in Spokane on July 8. Horne, 37, became a person of interest after police discovered probable cause linking him to the incidents, which included a fire at My Fresh Basket and another at a vehicle charging station. He was last seen near a Wal-Mart in Spokane Valley, described as a white male, 5'11" tall, with a slim build and blond hair. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the fires raised concerns due to the forecast of hot, dry, and windy weather. Police continue to seek additional evidence and ask the public for any relevant surveillance footage.

Horne also had an unrelated warrant for domestic violence, complicating his case. The Spokane Police Department emphasizes the importance of community assistance in resolving these incidents. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
