SPD Investigates Several Intentionally Set Fires

Spokane Police arrested Chad Horne, 37, for 2nd Degree Arson on July 9, 2025, following a series of deliberately set fires in the region. Horne was last spotted near a Walmart in Spokane Valley and is believed to be traveling eastbound on foot. He has a prior warrant for unrelated domestic violence. Investigators stated they received tips that placed him in the area around 2:00 p. m.

on the day of the arrest. Police provided a detailed description of Horne, noting he may have changed his clothing. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the fires, but officials are concerned due to the hot, dry weather conditions. Spokane Police have urged anyone with sightings of Horne or information about the arson incidents to call 911. The investigation continues as officials seek to gather more evidence related to the fires.
