Mascio brings a wealth of experience from her role as Deputy and acting Legislative and Policy Director at the New Hampshire Office of the Child Advocate, where she worked on child welfare matters and advocated for domestic violence victims. Her legal expertise includes prosecuting serious crimes and developing policies related to law enforcement practices. Police Ombuds Bart Logue noted her unanimous selection, emphasizing her strong oversight skills. Spokane Police Chief Kevin Hall shared optimism about Mascio's role in fostering community trust and accountability.

The Spokane Police Guild highlighted the competitive nature of the search, expressing confidence in Mascio's abilities. Mascio is eager to relocate to Spokane and contribute to the Office of the Police Ombuds. Outside of work, she enjoys community theater and traveling.
