Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Spokane will initiate a $3. 25 million upgrade to its water system on July 7, impacting traffic on Assembly St. and west Francis Ave. Motorists should plan for delays and detours due to temporary traffic signals at the intersection of Francis Ave. and Assembly St.

This project will install a new water transmission main to enhance water reliability and accommodate future growth. Phase one will cover the area from the junction of Francis Ave. /Hwy 291 to Rifle Club Rd. , resulting in residential street and intersection closures. The project is expected to be completed by November 2025, with phase two and three closures affecting additional streets.

A noise variance allows work to proceed from 6 a. m. to 6 p. m. , Monday through Saturday.

Local businesses may experience impacts, urging community support during construction.
