Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Spokane's infrastructure project will start on July 7, affecting traffic flow at the Francis Ave. and Assembly St. intersection. This initiative aims to install a new water transmission main to improve water reliability and accommodate future growth. Temporary traffic signals will be operational in all directions, with significant closures on Assembly St.

Northbound Assembly St. will close between Rowan Ave. and Francis Ave. /Hwy 291, while southbound traffic will be redirected from Francis Ave. /Hwy 291 to Rowan Ave.

The project will occur in three phases, with an expected completion date in November 2025 and a total cost of $3. 25 million. A noise variance allows work from 6 a. m. to 6 p.

m. Monday through Saturday. Residents should anticipate further street closures as the project progresses. Local businesses affected by the construction are encouraged to receive community support during this necessary work.
