Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Beginning July 7, Spokane will start a significant infrastructure project affecting traffic on west Francis Ave. /Highway 291 and north Assembly St. Northbound Assembly St. will close between Rowan Ave. and Francis Ave.

, requiring detours for motorists. Temporary traffic signals will be set up to manage traffic flow effectively. The $3. 25 million project will install a new water transmission main to improve water reliability and accommodate future growth in the area. Completion is anticipated by November 2025, with the project unfolding in three phases.

Additional road closures will occur on N. Royal Dr. and W. Lyons Ave. as the project progresses.

A noise variance allows work between 6 a. m. and 6 p. m. Monday through Saturday.

Local businesses affected by the construction are encouraged to receive support from the community.
