Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Spokane's water system upgrade will commence on July 7, affecting traffic significantly at the intersection of Francis Ave. and Assembly St. The city allocates $3. 25 million to enhance water reliability and support future growth through this initiative. Temporary traffic signals will be established, and closures will occur on northbound and southbound Assembly St.

, with detours available. The project will unfold in three phases, with the first phase starting at the junction of Francis Ave. /Hwy 291, Assembly St. , and Driscoll Blvd. Completion is anticipated by November 2025.

A noise variance allows construction from 6 a. m. to 6 p. m. Monday through Saturday.

Local businesses are encouraged to support the community during this necessary work. Future phases will include additional street closures along N. Royal Dr. and W. Lyons Ave.
