Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Spokane's infrastructure project begins on July 7, impacting traffic on west Francis Ave. /Highway 291 and north Assembly St. The city aims to install a new water transmission main to enhance reliability and accommodate future growth. Temporary traffic signals will be placed at the Francis Ave. and Assembly St.

intersection, while both directions of Assembly St. will be closed for detours. A noise variance permits construction from 6 a. m. to 6 p.

m. Monday through Saturday. Future phases will include additional street and lane closures in the area, affecting residential streets and intersections. The project represents a $3. 25 million investment in local infrastructure, with completion expected by November 2025.
