Pedestrian and Bike Improvement Projects Begin Next Week

Spokane initiates two pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects on June 30, enhancing safety and infrastructure on Lincoln St. and Maxwell Ave. The Lincoln St. project, slated for completion in September, includes buffered bike lanes, widened sidewalks, and a new signal at Broadway Ave. Motorists will be detoured, facing closures on Lincoln St.

from Boone Ave. to Sinto Ave. The Maxwell Ave. project aims to better connect the West Central Neighborhood with AM Cannon Park and the Centennial Trail, with an expected completion in October. Both projects are funded by Washington's Climate Commitment Act, which supports climate action efforts.

Local businesses will remain open, and residents should expect slower traffic speeds and delays. Access for residents will be maintained during the construction phases. The city encourages the community to support affected businesses.
