City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane City Hall will close on Juneteenth, June 19, to honor the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans, marking the federal holiday's significance. Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, all library branches, and the Development Services Center will also be closed. On-street parking will be free, but all parking regulations, including time limits, will still apply. Garbage, recycling, and food and yard waste services will proceed as usual, with the Waste-to-Energy facility and Spokane County’s transfer stations open for business. Spokane City Council has scheduled a meeting on June 23, which will be broadcast live on CityCable 5 and streamed online.

Spokane 311 employees will assist with customer service inquiries on Juneteenth, ensuring residents have access to necessary information. Riverfront Park attractions and city golf courses will operate normally, with splash pads also open for public enjoyment.
