City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane City Hall and multiple services will close on Juneteenth, June 19, to honor the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, all Spokane Public Library branches, and the Development Services Center will also close for the holiday. On-street parking will be free, but all parking regulations, including time limits, will still apply. Garbage, recycling, and food & yard waste services will proceed as usual, ensuring that residents have access to essential services. Spokane City Council will meet on June 23, featuring an agenda review at 3:30 p.

m. and a legislative meeting at 6 p. m. , with live broadcasts available on CityCable 5 and online. Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will remain open, as will city golf courses and splash pads.

Spokane 311 will provide customer service inquiries through phone and online channels. This observance of Juneteenth highlights the city's commitment to recognizing significant historical events.
