City Closures Planned for Juneteenth

Spokane City Hall and various municipal services will close on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, a federal holiday that honors the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all branches of the Spokane Public Library will also be closed for the day. While on-street parking meters will not require payment, all parking regulations, including time limits, will still apply, ensuring compliance with local laws. Garbage, recycling, and food waste services will proceed as usual, with the Waste-to-Energy facility and Spokane County transfer stations remaining open. Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will welcome visitors, alongside city golf courses and splash pads operating normally.

Spokane 311 employees will be available for customer service inquiries through phone and online channels on Juneteenth. Spokane City Council will convene on Monday, June 23, with scheduled meetings that will be broadcast live on CityCable 5 and streamed online.
